AEE says its MIAU1000 interface platform will join the Cavorite X7 full-scale demonstrator’s powered-lift control system, adding a supplier-level integration step to Horizon’s development program.

AEE Aircraft Electronic Engineering announced on 13 October that its MIAU1000 platform will be integrated into the powered-lift control system of Horizon Aircraft’s full-scale Cavorite X7 demonstrator.
Horizon’s current configuration places 12 electric lift fans within the wings and canards, with sliding covers for wing-borne flight. The announcement identifies an avionics integration task for that development aircraft; it does not report a completed installation or full-scale flight-test result.
AEE describes MIAU1000 as a compact gateway, data concentrator or engine/actuator interface unit that can also support flight-control computing. Its product page specifies a subset of individually isolated interfaces and onboard logging. The release highlights connections between high-voltage equipment and safety-critical avionics.
PropulsionWatch’s assessment: interface isolation helps define an electrical fault boundary, but aircraft-level safety still depends on power supplies, wiring, command validation and failure response. Distributed lift also requires consistent feedback across propulsion channels. Supplier hardware must therefore be assessed within the complete control architecture.
AEE states that the platform follows DO-254 and AMC 20-152A development processes up to DAL A and is designed for multiple DO-160G environmental categories. Those are supplier design and assurance statements. The announcement does not identify an aircraft Type Certificate or an approved X7 installation.
The next useful evidence is the configured unit’s integration test record: interface behavior, environmental qualification for the installation and system response to faults. A supplier selection establishes responsibility for hardware; successful demonstrator verification must establish its behavior in the aircraft.
