Safran business supplying aircraft electrical systems and the EASA-certified ENGINeUS 100 electric engine, now moving into series production.

Propulsion Architecture
ENGINeUS 100 is an air-cooled permanent-magnet electric engine with power and control electronics integrated into the machine. The certified B1 anchors a family intended for all-electric and distributed hybrid-electric aircraft.

Strengths
EASA issued the ENGINeUS 100 B1 type certificate under Special Condition SC E-19 in 2025, following 1,500 hours of motor certification testing and more than 100 flight hours reported by Safran. Safran publishes 125 kW maximum power and 5 kW/kg for the motor. Four semi-automated production lines in France and the UK are being commissioned for more than 1,000 units per year.

Weaknesses / Open Questions
Engine certification establishes an approved propulsion product but does not certify any host aircraft. The larger 89–180 kW family ambitions and applications beyond small aircraft require their own approved configurations and aircraft-level integration evidence. FAA validation was still described by Safran as underway.
