Nidec–Embraer joint venture developing aviation electric propulsion units, with Eve named as its launch aircraft partner.

Propulsion Architecture
Aircraft electric propulsion units; detailed model-specific motor/controller architecture and ratings require product-level technical evidence.
Primary Certification Context
Supplier / Component
Strengths
Eve aircraft EPUs: Nidec identifies Eve as the launch partner for Nidec Aerospace electric propulsion. The aircraft relationship is supported by the supplier's disclosure; an issued propulsion-product approval is not established by that announcement.
Development footprint: Nidec announced an Atlanta engineering hub on 2 February 2026, complementing St Louis operations. That expands development capability rather than constituting aircraft or engine certification.
The portfolio targets eVTOL, eSTOL, eCTOL and unmanned applications. The supplier profile is linked to Eve, while unverified product model names, power ratings and gearbox details are left unset.
Weaknesses / Open Questions
Public evidence is stronger for the supplier relationship and engineering organization than for a complete model-specific technical data sheet. Certification basis, product approval scope and installation-specific safety evidence remain to be confirmed. Older Eve schedule references are not reused as current targets.
