DO-160, published by RTCA and recognized by the FAA and EASA, defines the environmental and electromagnetic tests avionics and electrical equipment must survive -- vibration, temperature extremes, lightning, humidity, and more. For eVTOL developers, qualifying high-voltage battery and motor-control hardware to DO-160 is a major and often underappreciated part of the certification timeline, distinct from the aircraft-level Type Certificate process.
