CARGO TC APPLICATION REPORTED / CURRENT STAGE UNCONFIRMED
Current assessment

Vertaxi's primary release reports CAAC East China acceptance of the M1B cargo TC application on 10 January 2024. Its annual update reports a first certification review meeting in June 2024. This historical evidence does not establish a current approval or acceptance of a passenger variant.

Next gate

Obtain current authority/application status and configuration-specific basis, compliance and testing evidence for M1B.

AIRCRAFT & SYSTEMS

Technical overview

M1B is the uncrewed cargo member of Vertaxi's M1 eVTOL family. Its identity matters: the January 2024 TC-application announcement explicitly names M1B, rather than a passenger M1 aircraft.

Image: official M1-family concept reference. It is not a verified rendering of the M1B certification configuration.

Configuration & architecture

The family uses an electrically powered compound-wing configuration. Public family-level performance and passenger-capacity figures should not be transferred automatically to the cargo certification applicant.

Vertaxi's 2025 annual update describes structural optimization and a revised propulsion system. Configuration-specific rotor count, approved payload and battery characteristics are left unnormalized pending a dated M1B technical reference.

PROGRAM EXECUTION

Development, test & industrialization

The manufacturer announced on 11 January 2024 that CAAC East China had accepted M1B's application the previous day. It subsequently reported the first certification review meeting in June 2024.

Earlier company completion targets have passed. The dossier uses the observed application/review history and does not roll an old target forward or treat it as an issued approval.

Operations & market

The cargo-first approach targets logistics and special missions while a passenger version is developed separately. Commercial routes require the operating approvals applicable to the aircraft, organization and site.

Open gates & dependencies

Current certification stage, frozen design configuration and progress against compliance plans need updated primary evidence. The M1B application cannot substantiate passenger-service authorization for M1.
