Redundancy Approach

Distributed propulsion is visible. Electrical-channel independence, degraded control allocation and failure-containment details are not publicly substantiated in the reviewed material.

Range / Speed

May 2025/current product reference:160 km range,130 km/h cruise and30kg payload. Design figures, not measurements from the reported transition flight. Newer company-release payload references differ.

Current assessment

Moya's release dated 21 October 2026 reports a full-scale MOYA 256 flight through vertical takeoff, wing-borne cruise and vertical landing. Aviation Week corroborates the announcement. No Type Certificate, certified performance or routine commercial-operation approval is established. The exact flight date is not disclosed in the reviewed release.

Next gate

Expand and substantiate the transition envelope; reconcile production-configuration specifications and demonstrate installation-specific safety and operating approvals.

AIRCRAFT & SYSTEMS

Technical overview

The MOYA 256 is an uncrewed cargo eVTOL. Its four propulsors remain fixed to the airframe while the complete vehicle rotates between multicopter-like hover and wing-borne flight. The Explorer follows the public May 2025 reference rather than claiming to reproduce the October test article exactly.

Configuration & architecture

Published front and rear spans are5.1 m and5.2 m, with3.5 m total length in the reference configuration. Wing position, rotor layout and cargo-body form are guided by manufacturer views. Blade diameter, airfoils, cargo/battery locations and control equipment are representative.

PROGRAM EXECUTION

Development, test & industrialization

The21 October 2026 announcement reports nearly 200 MOYA 256 flights and nearly 500 across the broader campaign. The full-transition announcement is company-reported development evidence. It does not establish airworthiness/type certification or a demonstrated160km cargo mission.

Operations & market

Intended uses include middle-mile logistics, medical deliveries and other uncrewed cargo missions. The website and May 2025 sheet list30kg payload and160km range. Letters of intent are not entered as firm orders or deliveries.

Open gates & dependencies

Payload configuration requires reconciliation: current product materials give30kg for MOYA 256, while a newer reproduced release refers to80kg. The30kg field identifies the dated reference used here; it is not confirmation of the October demonstrator's payload. Validated transition margins, aircraft-level failure response and the approval pathway remain open.
