AURA AERO raised about €340 million in April 2026 and now targets ERA's first flight in late 2027. It says EASA and FAA certification is in progress, but no regulator milestones are public and the full-scale aircraft has not flown.
Complete prototype ground testing and fly the full-scale ERA (late-2027 target) with Safran's turbogenerator hybrid powertrain.
ERA is AURA AERO's 19-seat hybrid-electric regional aircraft for passenger, cargo, private and medevac missions.
AURA AERO publishes eight Safran ENGINeUS electric motors and two SAF-compatible turbogenerators. The current product page lists 900 nm / 1,500 km range, 300 kt maximum cruise and an 800 m short-field target.
AURA AERO states that certification is in progress. In April 2026 it secured about €340 million of new financing and moved ERA's first flight target to late 2027. In July 2026 Safran and AURA signed an agreement for Safran to develop ERA's hybrid-electric propulsion, with two turbogenerators and eight ENGINeUS electric motors.
ERA is designed for 16–19-seat regional passenger missions plus cargo, private and medevac configurations. AURA currently lists market availability before 2030.
The aircraft has not yet flown full scale. Published performance, emissions and availability figures remain manufacturer targets pending flight and certification evidence.
